Nico Rosberg

Yesterday's press conference was one of the worst displays of sportsmanship I have seen.
If he feels so strong about these things then front up to Hamilton, off camera and sort it out.
He showed a real lack of class yesterday, and displayed the characteristics of someone who threw his bike in the bushes.

Yes I think it was always going to be a very, very difficult season because of the testing regulations and limits on the engines they can use.
I think we'll see a big improvement in performance when we get into the European races and in the 2nd half of the season but I don't expect them to be really up for the challenge until next season.

whuffy, I seem to recall you're a big McLaren fan - I know they've made a lot of noise about it being a transitional season, but did you expect them to be this far behind?
Team that must be laughing their tits off the most is Sauber - hopeless last season, but get a better engine from Ferrari, two young, seemingly fearless drivers, and they've already improved immeasurably.

Spot on
McLaren are now doing this season what Ferrari done last season and the Mercs the season before.
Because of the massive changes it take a good while to get the right engine and car together so teams have to write off a whole season because of the limited testing.
The teams without their own engine, Red Bull etc etc who are not writing off the whole season will continue to be the also rans.

A lot like Hamilton's comments when he joined Mercedes.
But it's cool to hate him on here (not leveling that at either of you BTW), so will get glossed over

Agreed. I think Alonso's calm attitude and relaxed commetns about the team working hard to get to where they want to be automatically tell you that 2015 is a year of transition.

McLaren was his best choice as they are the only customers of Honda. Anywhere else and you're just running the same engine as a works team, only with a car that's not as optimised for the engine as the works one- therefore with no real chance of beating the works team consistently.
Logically it was the sound choice if Mercedes was a no go. I don't think there would be quite the fuss about it had Ferrari not suddenly pulled a rabbit out of the hat to everyone's surprise. Once McLaren and Honda have their shit together, he'll be up there in a really good position. They just need to be ready for 2016.

Problem for Alonso was how much of that decision was his? It seems to me that alot of it was bascially getting a seat where he could.
Ferrari was a no. Mercedes aren't going to un-seat Nico or Lewis. Then you are looking at Red Bull which doesn't fit. Then Williams? Sauber? It may have been a case of him taking what was on offer.
Which is sad for a driver of his quality.

This is the same little chubster who though he had inside knowledge that Red Bull were going to steam past Mercedes after race 5/6 last year.
Stick to biscuits and McDonald's Nicey, you understand them a bit better.

What's the point of drivers?
Well let's ask Red Bull who kept Ricciardo and bid farewell to Vettell.

Where did I say it was obvious Nicey? Again, I didn't and again you're making stuff up to suit a position of entirely your own creation.
I said that the top teams and drivers have said Ferrari had the best car for that particular circuit because of a number of factors - how it handles it's tyres, getting their pit strategy correct etc.

Re Alonso, best driver of the last 20 years
Hope his mates remind him of that now and again as he had forgotten a lot of the last 20 Years

Oh ok Joe - so after the result we can then state how it was so obvious that he would win. It doesn't sound like a fair rule but let's go with it.
After the next F1, whoever wins, I will tell you why they won.. This will be after the result of course

I did say that Nicey, you are quite correct. But where did I say that was analysis from before the race, which is what would have been required for what you're saying?
I didn't, and you've once again grabbed at some strand you've imagined up and ran with it, insisting that's what they other party was talking about.

You said yourself that he has the best car for the track and implied that is why he won.
I'm suprised if you didnt back him for the win with that knowledge

How much did you put on him? You must have done alright as he was far from favourite for the race and you has the inside track
